a T. garganica in vitro plant after root induction treatment (½MS + IAA (4 mg/L)) from a culture tube. b, c T. garganica in vitro shoots in TIB (temporary immersion bioreactor). d RITA® operation cycle: (1) Plants are placed on a fixed raft support in the upper compartment, and the culture medium is in the lower compartment (200 mL). (2) An overpressure of 30 kPa of sterile air is applied in the lower compartment, which pushes the medium into the upper compartment, immersing the explants. (3) During 3 min every 6 h, a sterile airflow continuously agitates and oxygenates the medium allowing an inner atmosphere renewal. (4) The airflow is stopped and the culture medium drains into the lower compartment by gravity
