(B) Decline of transcriptional activity in isolated chloroplasts. The amount of labeled rrn16 transcripts was analyzed in run-on (black line) and RePro (grey line) systems by pulsing the reaction by adding [32P]-UTP during indicated intervals (0 - 10, 10 - 20, 20 - 30, 30 - 40, and 40 - 50 min). A schematic representation of the timing of [32P]-UTP addition and RNA sampling is given below each graph.
