We would like to correct an oversight in that we did not cite the paper Kotogany et al. (2010). Previous to our work with in planta labelling of Arabidopsis meiocytes they showed that EdU was superior to BrdU in the labelling of Arabidopsis cultured mitotic cells (Kotogany et al. Plant Methods 2010 6:5).
