Effects of VitC and PEG on the quality of extracted thylakoids from P. oceanica. Leaves of P. oceanica (2Ā m depth) were ground in the presence of (5%) VitC in the absence (A) or presence (B) of (5%) PEG in the buffer. (1) Sample of the filtered ground leaf mixture. (2) Final pellet after resuspending the storage buffer. (3) Centrifuged pellet of the extracted thylakoids solubilized in 2% Ī±-DDM per mg/mL of chlorophyll (20Ā mg DDM for 1Ā mg chlorophyll). (4) The protein content of the solubilizate analyzed by BN-PAGE
