Efficiency of different gel gradients on the BN PAGE separation of mega-/supercomplexes in lincomycin treated maize mesophyll (LM M), untreated maize mesophyll (Ctrl M) and bundle sheath (Ctrl BS) thylakoids. Thylakoids (500 µg Chl mL−1) were solubilised using 1% (w/V) β-DM plus 1% (w/V) digitonin, and separated in 5–12% (1), 4.3–12% (2) and 4.3–8% (3) gel gradients. Complexes are marked as in Fig. 1a, PSII supercomplexes are marked by points, d: dimer, m: monomer. Complexes identified in the following part of the paper are marked by question marks
