Water content (A), relaxation time (T2) and A*T2 product images of a well-watered spruce (a) and beech (b) sapling, acquired at matrix sizes of 32 × 32, 64 × 64, and 128 × 128 pixels. The resulting pixel sizes were 0.59 × 0.59, 0.30 × 0.30 and 0.15 × 0.15 mm for spruce and 0.72 × 0.72, 0.36 × 0.36 and 0.18 × 0.18 mm for beech. The total acquisition times at these respective matrix sizes were 7, 29, and 117 min for spruce and 4, 14 and 59 min for beech.
