  1. The hydrogels were incubated in PIM, followed by a 2-week incubation in three different media for callus proliferation. The number of dividing calli with a diameter of > 1 mm in a fixed area of hydrogel area (21.50 cm2) was measured. Data represent the mean ± SEM of biological triplicates
