Log2 fold change comparison of lipid classes extracted by the method of Shiva et al. [21] and the methods of Welti et al. [16], Hummel et al. [22] and Burgos et al. [25] (n = 5). Fold changes were calculated by dividing the average peak area of a lipid class extracted by each of the methods Welti et al. (M1), Hummel et al. (M2) and Burgos et al. (M3) by that of Shiva et al. (M4), and then log2 transformed. Significant differences were determined by ANOVA, followed by Tukey’s test (p < 0.05)
