PHOT1-GFP and CLC-GFP fluorescence observations by VAEM and TIRFM. Still images taken from time-lapse sequences indicate localization of PHOT1-GFP (A and C) and CLC-GFP (B and D) in hypocotyl epidermal cells of 4-day-old Arabidopsis seedlings. Observations were made using VAEM (A, B) or TIRFM (C, D) observations. GFP-labeled pits in lateral-movement mode are indicated by arrows, and those in blinking mode are indicated by arrowheads.
