Scatter plot of cell density versus leaf surface area of individual leaves (leaf 6 of the Arabidopsis rosette, between 8 and 22 days after leaf initiation) as determined for the adaxial and abaxial epidermis, and the palisade and spongy mesophyll. The inset is a zoom on the dataset and shows cell densities for leaf surface areas between 20 and 100 mm2.
